High-Quality Right-Angle DC Plug for Audio Applications
The OYAIDE DC-2.1GL is a compact, high-quality right-angle DC power plug designed for audio equipment, DACs, audio interfaces, musical instrument effects and custom DC power cables.
Developed in response to the growing demand for high-quality compact DC connectors, the DC-2.1GL combines Oyaide’s expertise in connector design, materials and plating with a practical 90-degree construction.
The 5.5 × 2.1 mm plug size is widely used in audio equipment, musical instrument effects and other DC-powered devices.
High-Quality Brass Construction
The DC-2.1GL features a robust brass connector body with a thick 24K gold-plated finish.
The outer cover is also made from brass and finished with Oyaide’s durable Verichrome plating.
The cable is secured by a crimping system that provides reliable strain relief and helps prevent the cable from being pulled out of the connector.
Compact Right-Angle Design
The L-shaped 90-degree construction makes the DC-2.1GL particularly suitable for installations where space behind the equipment is limited.

VCP Insulation Cap
Many musical instrument effects and pedal systems use centre-negative polarity.
Because the outer contact of the DC-2.1GL is electrically connected to the metal housing, additional insulation is required when the connector is used in centre-negative configurations.
Oyaide therefore supplies a dedicated VCP insulation cap with the connector.
During cable assembly, the cap should be placed onto the cable before fitting the connector housing. After assembly, it can be positioned over the metal housing to provide additional insulation.
Please note that due to the shape of the cap, part of the metal surface may remain exposed. Care should always be taken to prevent accidental short circuits.
Silicone Spacer Rings
Three silicone spacer rings are supplied with the DC-2.1GL.
These can be fitted around the base of the plug shaft to adjust the effective insertion depth and improve compatibility with DC sockets of different depths.
