Description
The Oyaide BR-ONE is a 1mm thick butyl rubber turntable mat designed for serious analog enthusiasts who want improved vibration control, precise cartridge alignment, and a built-in toolset for turntable setup. It’s a multifunctional mat that blends performance with practicality — a rare mix in vinyl accessories.

Basic
“BR-ONE” is an ultra-thin sheet of butyl rubber only 1mm thick, and its simple appearance gives it an excellent vibration-damping effect that is hard to imagine. It absorbs vibration generated in the platter. BR-ONE” is also effective when used in combination with turntable sheets.
The outer diameter of the BR-ONE is decided by the inner diameter of the 0.5mm height outer rim of the Technics SL-1200 platter. So It will have a very good result combining with your other turntable mat on the turntable platter of Technics SL-1200 turntable platter.
BR-ONE can also be used alone to absorb vibrations generated by the record disc and platter, ensuring stable record playback. The BR-ONE weighs only 80 grams, making it suitable for use with float suspension record players.
Finally, If you have a turntable that can’t change the height of the tonearm, you may be able to adjust 1mm step height by adding BR-ONE mat for a final tuning or easy set up
BR-ONE comes with a PP coated paper stroboscope and overhang gauge to help you adjust your record player. The “BR-ONE” is the definitive thin turntable sheet with excellent cost performance and usability.
Features
Ultra-thin 1mm Thick Butyl Rubber Mat Demonstrates Excellent Damping Performance
BR-ONE is an ultra-thin mat of butyl rubber, only 1mm thick, with excellent vibration-damping properties that are hard to imagine from its simple appearance.

Easy Setting by Simply Sandwiching it between the Turntable Platter and other Thicker Turntable Mat
To use the “BR-ONE”, simply sandwich the “BR-ONE” between the record player platter and other thicker turntable mat. Since it is an ultra-thin sheet of 1mm thick, there is almost no need to readjust the arm height, and the “BR-ONE” can be used immediately after setting the “BR-ONE” on your current record player..
Effective when Stacked with Turntable Mat of Hard Materials
It is recommended to use “BR-ONE” with relatively hard materials turntable sheets, such as metal or carbon turntable sheets, to get the best effect of “BR-ONE”. It is recommended for those who wish to further bring out the capability of the turntable sheet they are already using.
A turntable sheet made of carbon, metal, glass, or other hard materials combined with BR-ONE is particularly effective.
BR-ONE can be Used Alone and Provides Stable vinyl playback.
“BR-ONE” can also be used alone to absorb vibrations generated by the record disc and platter, ensuring stable record playback. The “BR-ONE” weighs only 80 grams, making it suitable for use with float suspension type record players. We recommend this product to those who are looking for a cost-effective turntable sheet and want to try the excellent vibration-damping properties of butyl rubber. Includes Stroboscope and Overhang Gauge to Help Adjust the Turntables
BR-ONE” comes with a PP coated paper stroboscope & overhang gauge to help adjust the record player.
When in use
- Due to the nature of butyl rubber, the surface may have some uneven coloring or scratches during the manufacturing process, but this does not affect the performance.
- When soiled, wash with water and wipe dry with a soft cloth.
- Do not wipe with oil, organic solvents, or alcohol as they may alter the rubber.
- The stroboscope & overhang gauge are printed on the package backing, not on the BR-ONE itself. The stroboscope & overhang gauge can be easily detached from the backing paper.
- To use the stroboscope, please prepare a fluorescent light (non-inverter type) and a strobe light emitter separately.
- Please refer to the instruction manual of your record player and tone arm for the appropriate value of the overhang gauge.
🎯 Key Features & Functions
✅ Butyl Rubber Construction
-
Butyl rubber is known for its excellent damping properties and acoustic neutrality.
-
At only 1mm thick, it won’t interfere with vertical tracking angle (VTA) on most setups.
-
Helps suppress micro-resonance between record and platter — improving detail retrieval and bass precision.
✅ Built-in Stroboscope
-
Printed timing marks (typically 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM) allow you to check and fine-tune your turntable’s rotational speed using a standard strobe light (50/60Hz dependent).
✅ Overhang Gauge & Setup Tools
-
Includes printed guides for:
-
Overhang adjustment — aligns cartridge for optimal groove tracking
-
Stylus position referencing
-
Cartridge mounting geometry
-
-
Lets you make quick adjustments without external protractors
✅ Slim Profile
-
Ideal for decks with tight spindle clearance or non-adjustable VTA.
-
Can be used alone or stacked with other mats (cork, leather, etc.) for tuning.
🔊 Sound Benefits
-
Reduced surface noise
-
Tighter transients and improved focus
-
More stable imaging, especially with warped or lightweight pressings
🧠 Best For:
-
Turntables with hard platters (acrylic, aluminum, glass) that benefit from added damping
-
Vinyl enthusiasts who want an all-in-one setup tool built into their playback surface
-
Systems that need resonance control without messing with tonearm geometry
🛠️ Pro Tip:
-
Use the strobe feature under a fluorescent or strobe light (not LED, unless flicker frequency matches 50/60Hz).
-
Pair with a vinyl stabilizer like Oyaide STB-MSX or HWX for best groove contact and resonance suppression.
